F.A.Qs: List

WHO CAN JOIN?

Any full-time undergraduate student attending The University of St. Thomas. Sailing experience is appreciated but not at all required. We welcome and cater to all sailing abilities.

WHEN IS PRACTICE?

We practice three days a week, Tuesday - Thursday during the Fall and Spring seasons. Practice is from 4-7pm. We leave campus at 3:30 via carpool.

WHERE DO WE SAIL?

We sail out of Wayzata Sailing on Lake Minnetonka in Wayzata Bay. It is a 25 minute drive from UST. We practice alongside the University of MN and the High School teams.

WHAT IS COMPETETIVE SAILING?

This is a team built on competing within the ICSA while teaching those who are less experienced how to sail. Not only does this team produce sailors, but also a great community!

WHAT DO WE SAIL?

We sail primarily in the z420 class, with some competitions in the FJs. Few, but some events are sailed in larger keel boats and lasers.

WHY SHOULD I JOIN?

This team is a great way to meet friends on and off the water, giving you a chance to de-stress after class or anything else on your mind. There are travel opportunities to see the Midwest with your teammates... who will become some of your closest friends!

WHEN DO WE COMPETE?

Regattas happen on the weekends in fall and spring seasons. Most regattas require travel, some are at home while others are on the road.

WHAT IF I HAVE MORE QUESTIONS?

Don't hesitate to reach out to Rachel Bartel or Greg Bittle with any further questions, comments, or concerns.
